How to Fix Rounded Shoulders

Rounded shoulders have become a common posture for many of us, due to how much we sit and how much we are looking at screens.  Most women I work with have internally rotated shoulders.

Do you have Rounded Shoulders?

Watch this video for a quick assessment to see if you have rounded shoulders and then I provide a quick reset to help you move into a better position for shoulders to sit in.

Common reasons we are dealing with rounded shoulders:

  • sitting for long periods of time
  • using and staring at our cell phones
  • dealing with the stressors of life
  • carrying and holding heavy things
  • weak core from ineffective breathing

Once you stand up and complete this exercise, take a minute to walk around so that you are activating your core and back muscles to help awaken them and allow them to work through natural movement and proper alignment.  The more you get up and just move, the less your shoulders will round naturally.

Here is another thing to practice when it comes to carrying things like grocery bags or a purse along with some exercises to help with rounded shoulders.

The exercise below is a basic one to help you become more aware of where your shoulders are. Helping you to stand a little taller without rounding your shoulders.  Not only are you now standing taller, but it allows you to get up out of your seat to move.
