Tips to Meal Prep for the Busy Mom

-Overall simplify and take back to basics
-Bring family into kitchen to help create healthy meals together
-Use creative ways that are super simple
-Prepping could just be browning up the meat you bought at store that day, to save for Taco Tuesday later.
-If you don’t like the taste of reheated chicken, make sure you have a simple sauce to cook it in, this will help.
-Buy 2 Rotis chickens, use one then and shred other to freeze for later

Quick Lunch Meal Prep for the Busy Mom

Lunch can be a struggle so here are some simple solutions to eat healthier for lunch.

-Take leftovers from dinner

-Salads are always a great option. Salad is never just lettuce, tomato and cucumber. “There’s no rules for salad, that’s what I love, it’s like a blank canvas.”
Make fun homemade Bento boxes or plates with visually stimulating foods
Cut a tomato or pepper in half to fill with leftovers to use instead of bread

Healthy Snack Ideas

It’s important to model eating healthy snacks ourselves first. Then get out of mindset that snacks are in bags and boxes. Remember that what you bring into the house, kids will eat! So, take a look at what you are bringing into house.

-Protein paired with everything is best. Every snack should have some protein with it.

-Kids want sweetness, so do this naturally. Apples and honey, apples with sprinkled cinnamon, raspberries stuffed with mini chocolate chips, banana with Nut butter and chocolate chips are all great ideas for a sweeter snack.


3 Must Have Items for Fast Meals

Slow Cooker-provides you with something that you can prepare in the morning and it cooks all day while you are out doing what needs to be done.

InstaPot-great for quick meals and for those nights you forget to take anything out of the freezer, the chicken can cook up quickly partially frozen. One of her favorite quick ideas for multiple meals is Salsa chicken – use green salsa, 15 mins in Instapot, shred and use for salad, eggs, wraps

Air Fryer-although she doesn’t use one a lot of people love their Air Fryers for quick cooking.

One thing you can do today to start creating a healthier life and make meal time easier is to bring your family into the kitchen. Have them choose the meal along with which part they want to contribute when making the meal. Select a time when whole family can be together in kitchen to cook meal. Enjoy this time, 30 mins of time with kids, is what most of us moms want, to spend quality time with our kids.
